Previous chemotherapy
- Risk of LV dysfunction and heart failure within 12 months of pregnancy (mostly with anthracyclines e.g. doxorubicin)
- Do an echo in pregnancy (no action if normal EF >55%)
- Check TFTs if also had upper body radiotherapy
Likelihood of LVF in pregnancy with known cardiac disease secondary to cancer treatment: 28%
Likelihood of LVF in pregnancy without known cardiac disease secondary to cancer treatment: <1%
